Welcome to Kalamazoo Guitar Lessons

First I would like to thank you for visiting my website and congratulate you on your decision to learn how to play the guitar. I hope that, through my experience and education, I can have the privilege of helping you shape your vision of music into something that you can share with others.

Kalamazoo Guitar and Music Theory Lessons:

The First Guitar Lesson is free
- This is when we will find out your level and your goals. As well as scheduling a more permanent time slot for future guitar lessons.
I teach Acoustic and Electric Guitar Lessons to all ages and playing styles of students.
- I teach begginer to advanced improvisation and solo techniques
- Rhythm patterns, exercises and strumming techniques
- Advanced music theory and composition, etc...
I make sure that we cover what YOU want to learn!
- During guitar lessons you pick what songs, solo's or artists you want to learn and play like.
- Do you enjoy David Gilmour's solos? Then we'll learn some of them, transcribe them, analyze and break them down; then I'll show you how to reproduce a simular style in your own improvisation or writing.
I understand that people are different and not everyone can learn the same way and at the same speed. That is why each guitar lesson is catered specifically to each student. In my mind there is no tried and true system that works for everyone.

You will learn by actually playing and using what we cover!
- I am a firm believer in: "I hear I forget; I see I remember; I do I understand."
I also offer to ALL students (at their own discretion) to come out and play live with me: with a real band in front of a real live audience.
- This is only done if the student is comfortable with it and has had a chance to play and practice with the group.
- This performance will be recorded (high quality multi track), mixed down and then placed onto a DVD for you to take home and show your family and friends!

Most of all! I make sure you have FUN!! After all that is why you decided to play in the first place.... TO JAM!! I'll make sure you and I are able to have jam sessions ASAP!
